What did Consumer Reports rank?
LG Electronics was named the most trusted premium kitchen appliance brand in the United States after Consumer Reports, the country's largest consumer media outlet, released its reliability evaluation on October 15, 2026. According to Yonhap News, LG won first place in top-freezer refrigerators, induction cooktops, and built-in wall ovens.
Why does the ranking matter?
Consumer Reports bases its ratings on surveys of people who bought the products and used them for a long time, measuring how often they break down. In the built-in wall oven category, LG's ultra-premium built-in brand SKS came second, meaning LG brands held both the top two spots.
| Category | Result | |---|---| | Top-freezer refrigerator | 1st (LG) | | Induction cooktop | 1st (LG) | | Built-in wall oven | 1st (LG), 2nd (SKS) |
How is LG doing in the U.S. market?
The ranking follows earlier Consumer Reports results in June and August 2026, when LG ranked first in kitchen appliances and second in laundry, behind Miele. Market research firm Open Brand reported that LG held a 21.6% share of major U.S. home appliance sales in the first quarter of 2026, ahead of GE at 13.1%, Whirlpool at 11.7%, and Samsung Electronics at 13.1%.
For international fans
Induction cooktops heat cookware directly through electromagnetic energy and offer finer temperature control than gas or smooth-top electric models. Built-in wall ovens are installed flush into kitchen walls, which is why they are popular in high-end kitchen design.
