> A bungee-jump staff member's safety gear drew criticism after Gu Seong-hwan's jump aired on MBC's I Live Alone.

## Key points

1. The broadcast aired on the 16th of October.
2. Viewers questioned whether the staff member wore a fall-prevention device.
3. Footage alone cannot confirm the staff member's actual equipment or rule violations.

## What happened on I Live Alone?

MBC's variety show *I Live Alone* drew attention after its broadcast on the 16th showed actor Gu Seong-hwan bungee jumping with an acquaintance. Gu said he was frightened on the high platform but completed the jump.

## Why did viewers focus on the staff member?

Attention soon shifted to the staff member handling the bungee rope. Viewers said the person appeared to stand on the rope without a separate fall-prevention device. On the 17th, one netizen posted on social media that the scene looked unsafe and called it a sign of weak workplace safety awareness.

## What are the different views?

Many viewers agreed the scene looked risky. Others argued that facility safety is managed by the operating company, so blaming the production crew for airing the footage goes too far. Based on the broadcast alone, it is not possible to confirm the staff member's actual equipment or whether safety rules were broken.

## Earlier controversy

The show faced a separate controversy earlier this year over host Jeon Hyun-moo's impromptu trip to Kazakhstan, which aired in August. Critics questioned whether the trip was staged. The production team admitted that staff flight tickets had been issued in advance and local cooperation requested. Jeon said he issued his own ticket at the airport and apologized for the confusion.

## For international fans

I Live Alone is a long-running MBC variety show that follows Korean celebrities in their daily lives and travels. Viewers in other countries can check official MBC channels for availability.
